Ingredients:
- yellow cake mix, prepared according to directions
- For the pastry cream:
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 6 tablespoons sugar (upon further review we’ve added another tablespoon of sugar)
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 eggs
- 1 or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, or to taste
- big pinch of salt
- For the chocolate ganache:
- 4 ounces high-quality dark chocolate, preferably bittersweet
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon butter
