Video: Boston Cream Pie Recipe – How to Make a Boston Cream Pie

Ingredients:

  • yellow cake mix, prepared according to directions
  • For the pastry cream:
  • 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 6 tablespoons sugar (upon further review we’ve added another tablespoon of sugar)
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, or to taste
  • big pinch of salt
  • For the chocolate ganache:
  • 4 ounces high-quality dark chocolate, preferably bittersweet
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 teaspoon butter
